OMITTING KEYING INPUT SYSTEM TO JAPANESE LANGUAGE

PURPOSE:To constitute the system so that an input speed is improved by decreasing the number of keying to about half at the time of input with regard to Japanese language, and also, many hours are not required for acquisition by a special keyboard layout and a shift key. CONSTITUTION:A keyboard 1 contains vowel keys 2, consonant keys 3, and shift keys 4 for imparting a function for omitting keying. In order to facilitate storage of a consonant input method of even number-th syllables, an array of the consonant keys 3 of the Japanese syllabary standard in an M system is utilized. By counting up symbols required in the case 14 pieces being the total number of consonants and even number syllables of Japanese language are vowels, it is necessary to designate 15 pieces of consonants, but since the vowel keys 2 exist by three stage at every vowel, the number of necessary thumb shift keys is five pieces by dividing 15 by 3. Therefore, the physical arrangement of these five pieces of thumb shift keys is executed in accordance with an array of M system consonant keys. In such a way, at the time of executing a keying input of a vowel of an odd number-th syllable, the thumb key corresponding to the consonant of the succeeding even number-th syllable can be selected easily.
