CONSTITUTION CONTROL SYSTEM OF COMPUTER SYSTEM HAVING COMMUNICATION CONTROLLER OF REDUNDANT CONSTITUTION

PURPOSE: To enable the automation of the switching from an active communication controller where a fault occurs to a reserve communication controller when the fault occurs in the one of plural active communication controllers in a computer system where the communication controllers are made to have redundant constitution. ;CONSTITUTION: Plural active communication controllers 21 to 2n are normally operated by the communication mode determined by communication lines 51 to 5n with which each controller is connected. When a monitoring device 40 detects the occurrence of a fault in the active communication controllers 21 to 2n by a fault detection means 41, the device 40 loads the firmware corresponding to the communication mode of the faulty active communication controller from an FW file to a reserve communication controller 2x by an FW load means 42 and starts the reserve communication controller 2x after the device 40 instructs the cut-off of the faulty active communication controller and the connection of the reserve communication controller 2x with the communication line with which the faulty active communication controller has been connected from a switching means 44 to a line changeover switch 30.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
