PURPOSE: To efficiently sterilize the electrolytic cell or filter of a circulating circuit by obtaining sterilized water enhanced in the concn. of residual chlorine by subjecting inverse current washing-electrolyzed water to inverse current electrolysis while circulating the same to an electrolytic cell and sterilizing the member of a circulating water circuit by this sterilized water. ;CONSTITUTION: A continuous electrolytic water conditioning apparatus 1 is constituted so that raw water is supplied to an electrolytic cell 3 from a water supply pipeline 2 and the alkali ion water and acidic water formed in the electrolytic cell 3 by electrolysis are respectively discharged from a pair of drain pipelines 4, 5 and the polarity of the voltage applied to the electrodes of the electrolytic cell 3 is reversed to perform inverse current washing. In a washing and sterilizing method, by performing inverse current electrolysis while the inverse current washing-electrolyzed water formed during inverse current washing is circulated to the electrolytic cell 3, sterilized water enhanced in the concn. of residual chlorine is obtained and, by this sterilized water, the bacteria removing filter 8 of the water supply pipeline 2 or the circulating water circuit of the electrolytic cell 3 is sterilized simultaneously with inverse current washing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
