CONCORDANT CONTACT MEMBER DRIED UP IN LOW IMPEDANCE AND LOW DUROMETER AND METHOD AND DEVICE FOR USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: To manufacture an electrode not to irritate skin by forming a contact member with low durometer and non-conductive non-dry material and conductive elements dispersed in the material of quantity sufficient enough to cause mutual contact so as to give a certain specific resistance. ;CONSTITUTION: Into an electrocardiograph electrode 11 is incorporated a conductive silicone contact member 12 of 10-100ohm/cm. The electrode 11 being a flexible pad 13 made of foaming plastic is formed to have a diameter 1-1/2" and a thickness 1/16-1/18". The pad 13 has a tab 13a and a rectangular or circular hollow 16 processed in its center and a conductive circular button 17 covered with a conductive film 18 such as silver chloride. The button 17 is held in the hollow 16 put fixed to a metal snap 21 which is fixed onto an elastic sheet 22. This constitution presents an electrode to be attached to the body without irritating the skin nor causing exanthema.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
