PURPOSE:To enable the uneven condition of an air flow at each air discharge outlet to be suppressed by providing an air feeder pipe connected at right angles to the discharge direction of the air discharge outlet in an air chamber and allowing the air to be fed to gyrate in the air chamber. CONSTITUTION:In ink jet recording using an air flow, one end of an air feeder pipe 14 is connected to the side of an air chamber at a lop-sided position in a direction at right angles with the discharge direction of an air discharge outlet 10 so as to avoid the assumption by the feeder pipe of an opposite position to an internal wall 4. On the other hand, the other end of the air feeder pipe 14 is connected to an air supply source. An air flow to be supplied from the air feeder pipe 14 flows gyrating in the air chamber 6, then is stabilized and finally converges into an air flow path 7 between an air nozzle plate 3 and an ink nozzle plate 5 from the surroundings. The air thus converged can be injected through each air discharge outlet 10, generating a sudden curve. Consequently, the uneven condition of an air flow (velocity, pressure and discharge direction) from each air discharge outlet can be suppressed.
