PURPOSE: To provide the subject singered compact excellent in both thermal shock resistance and slaking resistance. ;CONSTITUTION: The objective high-purity calcia sintered compact has ≤2% of apparent porosity and 5-15vol.% of closed cell content consisting mainly of closed cells of 2-10μm in diameter. By the above apparent porosity, the present calcia sintered compact has slaking resistance virtually equivalent to those of high-density analogous sintered compacts. Besides, by the above closed cell content and the diameter of the closed cells, the present calcia sintered compact is excellent in thermal shock resistance as well as slaking resistance.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
