ICE MAKING EQUIPMENT UTILIZING HEAT PIPE AND ICE MAKING METHOD USING THIS EQUIPMENT

PURPOSE: To reduce the initial cost of equipment as a whole by a method wherein ice is discharged into an ice storage tank every time when it is formed on the surface of a heat pipe, and the ice is formed again in an ice making tank. ;CONSTITUTION: A feed water pump 27 being started, raw water is supplied through a water supply pipe 26 and accumulated up to an intake position of an overflow pipe 32 of an ice making tank 22, and thereafter a refrigerant is supplied to a heat exchanger 21 from a refrigerant supply pipe 28 so as to cool fins 30 at a condenser part 20a of a heat pipe 20. When ice 23 formed on the outer surface of an evaporation part 20b grows to a prescribed quantity, unfrozen water 24 inside the ice making tank 22 is discharged into an ice storage tank 25 by opening a valve 31 in the lower part of the ice making tank 22, while the refrigerant in the heat exchanger 21 is collected entirely from a refrigerant discharge pipe 29. Then, warm water is supplied to the refrigerant supply pipe 28 so as to melt the ice 23 gradually on a contact surface, to remove the sticking force thereof and to detach it from the surface, and the ice is made to drop down to the bottom of the ice making tank 22.
