PURPOSE: To obtain a new microorganism strain having excellent inhibiting activity against yeasts and fungi, and a microbial preparation consisting of the strain alone or a combination with another microorganism and/or additives, and to provide use of the preparation. ;CONSTITUTION: The present invention relates to a new microorganism strain having inhibiting activity against yeast and fungi, i.e., Lactobacillus casei ssp. rhamnosus LC-705 (DSM7061) and a microbial preparation obtained by compounding the strain alone or a combination with a bacterium in the genus Propionibacterium or another strain in Lactobacillus casei with a reagent which has been used conventionally for controlling yeasts and fungi. The present invention also relates to the use of the above microorganism strain and the above microbial preparation for controlling yeasts and fungi, and also methods for controlling the growth of yeasts and fungi using the microbial preparation containing the above microorganism strain.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
