PURPOSE: To reduce the generation of noise by applying correction on the reference tooth surface of a spur gear, having a high tooth height, in a specified contact ratio when a tooth shape is formed by means of a normal involute curve. ;CONSTITUTION: In a pair of gears 10 and 20, when a tooth shape is formed by means of a normal involute curve, correction by an amount equivalent to a bending amount of each of teeth 1 and 2 is applied on the contact surfaces 33, located in the vicinity of an addendum 4, of three pairs of contact surfaces 33-35 on which three pairs of teeth 1 and 2 on a tooth surface 3 are engaged with each other.
