PURPOSE: To surely decides the dangerousness of vibrations caused by an earthquake, etc., by calculating vibrational energy per period and providing a dangerousness decision means based on the calculated energy. ;CONSTITUTION: A mobile electrode is oscillated by acceleration generated by vibrations and a capacitance generated between the mobile electrode and a fixed electrode changes. A microcomputer 2 first calculates vibrational acceleration from the frequency-divided output of the circuit 5. Then the microcomputer 2 integrates the acceleration over a prescribed period. Namely, the microcomputer 2 calculates the speed by finding the area of the acceleration waveform having the prescribed period and calculates the vibrational energy per prescribed period of the vibrations based on a conversion table prepared based a relation expression between the speed and vibrational energy.
