PRODUCTION OF CERAMIC WARE UTILIZING SILICON SLUDGE

PURPOSE:To obtain porcelains utilizing silicon sludge having environmental problems by adding the slurry silicon which is discharged in the production of semiconductor silicon wafers to the porcelain materials containing ground porcelain, forming the mixture and firing it. CONSTITUTION:Pure silicon slurry formed, when semiconductor silicon wafers are cut, or ground, is recovered. The recovered silicon slurry is added to the body containing ground and formulated porcelain or the starting material of ceramic wares containing a variety of components and additives, then the mixture is formed, and fired to give ceramic wares. Thus, the silicon powder can usefully be utilized without anxiety on soil pollution which may be possibly caused only when it is used for reclamation. Generally, since the water content of the silicon sludge is high, dehydration is effected to adjust the water content, if it is used as a starting substance for ceramic wares.
