HYBRID DIGITAL MULTIPLEXER ACCOMMODATING COMMUNICATION BY TIME DIVISION MULTIPLEX SYSTEM AND COMMUNICATION BY FRAME MULTIPLEX SYSTEM IN COEXISTENCE

PURPOSE: To coexist communication by the time division multiplex system with communication by the frame multiplex system in a small transmission delay time without the need of revision of the interface and deterioration in the utilizing efficiency of a transmission line in the digital multiplexer being a terminator in a network of an enterprise employing private lines or public lines. ;CONSTITUTION: A frame processing means 107 multiplexes or demultiplexes frame data 104 with respect to one time slot 106 or over optionally preset on a transmission line 101 by the time division multiplex system. The assignment of the time slot 106 is set dynamically by a frame data time slot setting means 108 in response to an operating form or a time band of the transmission line. When the allocation of the time slot 106 is revised, a synchronization establish means 109 executes the synchronization establishing phase. A frame processing means 107 implements flag insert/delete and 0 insert/delete according to the high level data transmission procedure by using an FIFO buffer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
