A process of producing recording media based on arsenic chalcogenides and chalcohalides, in particular optoelectronic elements, circuits and inorganic photo resistors and information recording media with a high level of resolution. After exposition a thin layer of arsenic chalcogenide or chalcohalogenide is dissolved in an organic solvents, with the exception of protophile solvents, or containing halogen in quantities of 0.001 to 5.0 % by weight. The thin layer is subjected to an aprotic, amphiprotic solvent or a mixture of polar aprotic solvents with 0.01 to 5.0 % by weight of alkaline protogennic solvents, or amphiprotic or aprotic solvents with a content of 0.001 to 5.0 % by weight.
