The present Invention relates to compositions of Catalyst for oxychlorination of ethylene to produce 1, 2 - DICHLOROETHANE.The Catalysts comprise an alkali metal Copper, at least, at least a Rare Earth Metal and at least one Metal of Group IIA,In a medium of high surface area and large surface areas for Applications of fluidized bed or a stand high or Low surface area for Applications of fixed bed.The Catalyst compositions are prepared by deposition of metals on a support.The use of the compositions of the invention in the catalytic oxychlorination of ethylene to EDC is with high efficiency, high rate of ethyleneHigh purity of Product and High Conversion of EDC HCl in percent, without exhibiting adhesiveness of Catalyst.A procedure for oxychlorination of ethylene to produce 1, 2 - dicloretano, is also described.The procedure is based on contacting the mixture of ethyleneOxygen or gas containing oxygen and Hydrogen chloride with a composition in a fixed or fluidized catalytic reaction Zone and Recover 12 - DICHLOROETHANE Effluents from the Reaction Zone.
