Method of simultaneously removing sulphur dioxide, sulphur trioxide, as well as sulphuric acid mist and vapours from gases, in particular flue ones, by absorption, using absorption of sulphur dioxide in a water solution containing, as a catalyst, iron (II) sulphate and manganese (II) sulphate, with the use of material counter-current, at a temperature between 30 and 90 degrees C, with constant circulation of the water solution of the catalyst in an absorber with sieve shelves on which a layer of foam is created, characterized in that to the absorber gas is introduced in which the amount of oxygen is at least 5 times larger than the amount of sulphur dioxide.
