The invention relates to improvements to the binding of brick walls, particularly for shoring up upper expanses of gable walls of buildings, through the application of binding elements, fixed at appropriate points, at various levels of the structure which it is desired to stabilize, it being possible for the bands to consist of cables made from strong materials, the cable being anchored in the walls by means of cable-ridge wedges, or another known process, binding being effected by placing metal corner pieces which are fitted to the corners of the building where two walls meet, and intermediate elements, such as beams or tubes, against the walls, also being arranged, the corner elements and the intermediate elements being interposed between the walls and the cables which are pulled.
