Process for the aminolysis of 1,2-epoxides catalyzed by metal salts

A regio- and stereoselective process is described for the preparation of β-aminoalcohols from epoxides and primary, secondary, aliphatic or aromatic amines, characterized by the use of salts of lithium, sodium, magnesium, calcium or zinc as catalysts.
