Fast locking device for the blades on the shafts of wood planing machines

On the blade shaft for planing machines, of the type where the periphery is provided with longitudinal slots in each of which a work blade is housed as well as a prismatic retaining cap iron, a fast locking device for these blades comprises a set of toggles in succession housed in a slot parallel and radially internal to that for the blade and cap iron, in contrast with a blind extremity of said slot and protruding from the opposite free end of the same slot, and a central control component for exerting an axial thrust on said set of toggles, in correspondence with said free end of the slot where it protrudes from the shaft, to produce a radial thrust on the cap iron for each toggle of the assembly.
