A process for making an apparatus 15 for lifting building elements 14 in general, particularly prefabricated elements in reinforced concrete, it envisages a first phase in which at least one section of strand 10 is associated with a body 9 provided with an appropriate seat suitable for taking this section, this body having a guiding and supporting function, and a second phase in which at least the strand 10 bends on at least one contracting element 16 in such a way as to make it adhere to the body 9 itself. A device 1 for actuating the process described above comprising means 5B for supporting a body 9 associated with at least on section of strand 10, means of contrast 16 suitable for making said means of support and contrast cooperate at least with this strand 10, as they are mobile in relation to each other.
