The receptor used for the immunological detection of bacteria of the species Aeromonas or Vibrio cholerae by incubation with at least one receptor which is able to bind to the bacterium to be detected is a monoclonal antibody which is in immobilised, immobilisable or labelled form and is able to bind to an O antigen which is common to all bacteria of the species Aeromonas and Vibrio cholerae.
