The invention relates to a transducer for inspection of the secondary cooling of a continuous casting machine which comprises secondary cooling ramps equipped with water diffusers and arranged in the bays separating the rolls, the said transducer being driven so as to circulate in front of the said cooling ramps, characterised in that it consists of a sealed chamber (1) of small volume which has a wall (3) made from insulating material equipped with a heat-conducting stud (12) which is arranged so as to face the cooling ramps during circulation of the transducer, the other walls of the said chamber (1) being thermally insulating, in that at least one electrical heating resistance element (6, 7) is arranged in the said chamber, in that the said resistance element or elements (6, 7) is/are controlled so as to adjust the temperature in the said chamber to a reference value, and in that it comprises a temperature sensor (11) arranged in the said sealed chamber.
