Inhibition of mycotoxin contamination of crops by fusarium fungi, comprises treatment of the crops, their seeds, or a field due to be used for cultivation or growth of the crops, with a Bacillus subtilis strain. Compsns. contg. an Iturin A-producing strain of Bacillus subtilis in combination with a diluent and/or an auxiliary are also claimed. Specifically, the Iturin A-producing strain is NK-330 (FERM BP-1580) or NK-C-3 (FERM BP 1581) or a variant of these. USE - The process is esp. useful for treatment of cereal crops, e.g. wheat, corn and oats, to prevent e.g. pink ear rot.
