ABSTRACTA nasal adaptor device and seal fordelivering gases under pressure to the nasal airwayof an individual including an aerodynamicallycontoured manifold to receive gases from an inlet andto divide the gases for flow to a pair of flangemembers, preferably having a nonspherical curved"egg-shaped" surface, which members are complementaryto the nares of an individual without cannulating thenares to provide a seal to withstand positivepressure of gases to be distributed to the nasalairways. The devices and nares seals of thisinvention are especially useful in treatment ofobstructive sleep apnea and in ventilation ofindividuals for whom positive pressure ventilation isindicated.
