Abstract of the DisclosureA bactericidal composition and method for inhibiting andcontrolling the growth of the capsulated, facultative bacterium,Klebsiella pneumoniae, are disclosed. The composition comprises anamount, effective for the intended purpose, of methylenebis(thiocyanate) and a tetraalkyl phosphonium halide compound. Themethod comprises administering between about 0.1 to about 200 partsof this combined treatment (based on one million parts of thedesired aqueous system) to the particular water containing systemfor which treatment is desired.
