PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF N-(DICHLOROPHOSPHORYL) TRICHLOROPHOSPHAZENE FROM PHOSPHOROUS PENTACHLORIDE AND AMMONIUM CHLORIDE

The invention relates to the preparation of N (dichlorophosphoryl) trichlorophosphazene from phosphorus pentachloride and ammonium chloride. According to this process, the two reagents mentioned above are brought into contact in the presence of POCl3 to obtain the product of formula P3NCl12, and the reaction medium containing P3NCl12 is treated with SO2 while being kept at a temperature at most equal to about 30 .degree.C. This process leads to the production of a colorless or very weakly colored phosphazene.
