This invention relates to an improved method of hard lacing earth engaging agricultural tools and implements. The invention provides a method of hard facing surfaces of agricultural earth engaging tools or implements subject to wear comprising applying molten hard facing material to said surface of said tool or implement while applying to the opposite side of said surface a fluid coolant to conduct away the heat generated by the applied hard facing and minimize hardness loss in said agricultural tool or implement.
