Compounds of the general formula I IMAGE and the corresponding open-chain dihydroxy carboxylic acids of the formula II IMAGE in which X, Y and Z have the stated meanings, and their pharmacologically tolerated salts with bases and their pharmacologically tolerated esters, process for preparing this compound, its use as pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical products are described. Also described are phenols and thiophenols of the formula III IMAGE in which X, Y and Z have the stated meanings.
