In known diode split transformers, transient effects occur during the forward line trace which impair the image quality. In the novel diode split transformer, no transient effects impairing the image quality should occur. Essentially, this is achieved by the fact that a diode (D4) is connected in parallel with the part-winding (I1) of the diode split transformer which is closest to earth, in such a manner that interference oscillations occurring at the part winding closest to earth during the forward line trace are bypassed to earth.
