The smart sensor for absolute measures of linear and angular displacements comprises: a transducer, using the principle of electric coupling by induction, in presence of time-varying electric signals, between a number of fixed conductors and one or more mobile conductors, placed close to those fixed; a digital processing unit, generating said electric signals and processing what has been detected by the transducer to calculate said measures.The sensor falls within the cathegory of the so defined "smart sensors". In the various embodiment examples there are described angular displacement sensors with a range of 360° for one or more full rotations, with a resolution 1°, and linear displacement sensors with a resolution 1 mm.
