A cementless metallic artificial hip cup which is covered on its outside with multi-layer metal fabric (4) and which consists of an inner shell (1) and an outer shell (2) which form between them a cavity. The inner shell (1) and outer shell (2) are connected to one another at their edges in a gastight manner so that no particles can escape from the cavity (5) to the surrounding area. In contrast to the inner shell (1), the outer shell (2) is designed with a thin wall and is highly elastic. Arranged in the cavity (5) are elastic transmission elements (3) which bear on the inner shell (1) and on the outer shell (2). Upon primary anchoring, the outer shell engages in a bead (10) running around the edge of the metal fabric (4) in order to snap into a matching undercut in the bone tissue (17). As a result of the elastic resilience of the outer shell (2), upon loading of the artificial hip joint towards the bone tissue (17) which is being incorporated, a state of equilibrium is established which substantially prohibits local stress peaks. …IMAGE…
