This device comprises an equipment housing (11) of suitable handy shape. In this equipment housing (11), a processor (12) controlling the device with keying means (14) for selecting and starting testing and measuring functions is arranged which is followed by a measurement transformer (13) with an input stage (15) and a supply stage (16) common to the processor (12), the measurement transformer (13) and the input stage (15). If one of the functions like fault current test, direction of rotation, insulation test, loop resistance, cosine phi, voltage, peak current and others is selected, the display of the processor shows the relevant connection circuit which gives the user accurate instructions on how to connect the device.
