space transportation architecture (ATS) for performing robotic operations on a planet. The ATS includes a terrestrial launch vehicle (VLT) (10), designed to carry a space transfer vehicle (VTS) (15) and payloads associated (17) to place on an orbit closer to the earth ( OPT). The space transfer vehicle (VTS) (15) carried by the VLT (10) is designed to carry payloads associated with a OPT to a planetary orbit, and for releasing these payloads (17) from the planetary orbit so that they land at a point at least one planetary exploration site. At least one global sensor (17) is carried by the VTS. The probe (17) is designed to carry a plurality of platforms operating robot (58) and to deploy these platforms at the site of the scanning site. A plurality of robotic operating platforms (58) is carried by each of the probes (17).
