A process for shaping elements from ceramic powder. In this method (1) forming a concentrated mixture containing more than 40% solids by volume, this mixture comprising ceramic powder, a material forming a selected gel in the class of polysaccharides known as "agaroïdes" and a solvent for the gel-forming material; this step being performed in a mixer that has a shear and is heated to raise the temperature of the mixture to about 70-100 ° C; and (2) the mixture is molded at a temperature sufficient to produce a homogeneous structure comprising the powder and gel. The elements have excellent resistance to the green and quickly cook without crack, warp or shrink.
