Cleared strips are mineralized on the surface by loosening the soil and sowing seeds of leaf-bearing trees in non-seeding years. While clearing the strips, the windfallen and low-grade wood and felling residues are placed in mounds and in 3-6 years, after partial rotting of residues in mounds and stumps underneath the wood in the mounds is crushed and soil is raised in their place.
