FIELD: physiology of plants. SUBSTANCE: method involves germinating the seeds of test varieties, producing protein extracts from shoots and carrying out immunity test of produced extract with serum for proteins of frost-resistant variety. Immunity test is reaction of double immunodiffusion through barrier using three sera of which two react to proteins of shoots of high-frost-resistant variety stressed at subzero temperature and to proteins of one-month actively-vegetating plants and the third, the barrier one, to proteins of the shoots of low-frost-resistant variety. Estimation is based on the relation of the amount of protein at which protein extract interacts through barrier serum with serum reacting to proteins of actively-vegetating plants to the amount of protein at which protein extract interacts through barrier serum with serum reacting to proteins of the wheat of high-frost-resistant variety. The higher the ratio, the higher is the frost resistance of the test variety. EFFECT: lower labor requirement, better and speedier determination. 1 dwg
