PURPOSE:To obtain a composition for oral cavity with enhanced effect of tooth decay prevention by using a fluoride and a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound. CONSTITUTION:At least one of fluorides selected from sodium, potassium, and ammonium fluorides, is combined with at least one of a nitrogen-containing hetero-cyclic compound other than pyridine ring skeletal such as thiamin hydrochloride, acrinol or histidine hydrochloride. When needed, an abrasive, a humectant, a thickener, a surfactant, oil, perfume, preservative, antioxidant are added thereto to give the subject composition in a usual manner. The amount of the fluoride is 50-1,000ppm calculating as the total fluorine concentration based on the final composition. The amount of the nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound is 1/50-10 fold moles of the fluoride.
