The brake warning lamps (50) are turned on by a brake-pedal-operated switch (25) which is bypassed by a switching relay unit (40) in series with a hand-operated switch (31) pref. combined with the emergency flashing indicator switch (10). Current pulses are supplied from an electronic flasher (20) to the brake warning lamps (50) and rear fog lamps (51) alternately, and monitored with an indicator lamp (38) visible to the driver. ADVANTAGE - Driver can deter following drivers from dangerous encroachment, by simulating warning of brake application without actually lifting his or her foot from accelerator.
