The multi-functional gas cleansing process incorporates one or more than one of the following reactions adsorption, absorption, catalytic oxidation, catalytic reduction, heat exchange, heat transfer, condensn., evapn., drying, dust sepn. The gas which is to be cleaned is transported by a moving bed of bulk solid grains excited by an external agent. The moving bed of solid grains is regulated and controlled w.r.t. direction, amplitude and frequency. The bed of grains is located in an externally-excited dynamic reactor, or is moved within this via. an internal path, and/or the grains are circulated through one or more beds, and are transported by oscillation-vibration. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process and assembly clean process gases. The process and assembly reduce the incidence of unequal treatment, crusting, and deposits, with the associated disadvantages for the degree of gas cleaning achieved and operating costs.
