A battery operated pocket sized computer unit is configured for operation as a language computer complete with a stored vocabulary and a search control system. The unit has a read/write or read only memory containing a dictionary of words. Keyboard entries are used to transfer loads into a selection memory. A learning programme is stored in a read only memory and further memory is used to store status information. Specific words may be stored in groups in the selection memory. Translated equivalents of new words can be entered in the learning mode. USE/ADVANTAGE - Provides improved capability with learning mode.
