摘要

The working transducer (1) directs ultrasonic waves at an angled surface (2) from which they are reflected (4) in a generally horizontal direction. The surface inclined at pref. 45 deg. carries the monitoring transducer (3) whose response is processed by electronic circuitry for a check on the size of the received pulse. After all echo signals have been read, the monitoring transducer itself radiates a pulse of defined size back to the working transducer which checks on its sufficiency. USE/ADVANTAGE - For contactless distance measurement in air and gas, the monitoring transducer always lies sufficiently within the acoustic field of the working one, without adverse effect on it.
