The cutter (26) of the cutter/transport station cuts off the tape (22) at a point away from the tape end when the cutter and gripper stations have moved apart by the desired section length. One of the stations can be locally fixed and the other movable. The cutter transport station has a transport block (23) displaceable on a base plate (1) by a guide unit (27, 28). The fixing unit of this station is pref. a holding-down plate (38) which can be pressed against the tape (22) through the guide slit (35). USE/ADVANTAGE - The appts. is mechanically stable and suitable for long-term use for cutting adhesive tape, cable and wire sections, metal foil, plastics foils etc.
