Control circuit for vehicle electronic throttle setting - has self-analysis with programmed control function and with error level signals

The throttle is set wrt the throttle control by an electronic circuit which generates drive signals for the servo drive for the throttle. The failure monitoring circuit has a programmed function which monitors the feedback signal wrt time and computes expected values for the feedback signal. If the monitored signals exceed set levels, then a failure is indicated. The system monitors the dynamic response of the control circuit and compares it with expected values. If a failure mode is detected then the control program operates on a failsafe standby mode. ADVANTAGE - No additional monitoring systems required; simple processor control.
