Signal transmission for circuit board analogue or digital signals - using strip lines formed on board with transmitter line coupled by impedance matching network to several receiver lines
A signal transmission track is formed on the surface of a printed circuit board (LP) and consists of a number of strip lines (L1-L3). One of the lines is coupled to the output of a signal source (SQ) that has an internal resistance (Ri). The signal generated is transmitted to a pair of receivers (E1,E2) coupled by a resistor network (RN). The output of the generator connects to the transmission line via a resistor (RE) to define the characteristic resistance of the line (L1). The coupling network has resistors (R1-R3) selected such that the three lines have the same value of characteristic impedance. USE/ADVANTAGE - Has impedance matched lines for improved transmission.
