Compaction of grass and leaves by sweeper machine - is carried out by rotary press fed by worm which receives sweepings of grass and leaves from rotary brush and claw roller

The grass and leaves are cleared off the ground by a rotary roller equipped with radial brushes (9) and claws (10), which revolves on a transverse horizontal axle. The axle is mounted between shafts (5) which are swivel jointed (6) to the end of a frame (7), allowing the roller to be lowered or raised at will. The material is thrown by the roller onto a transverse worm (12), which gathers it into the centre where it is ejected (13) onto the rotor press (3). The press comprises a rotor (14) and blades (15) which act as a comminuter to shred and compress the material and feed it into a press channel (17), from where it passes into a container (4). USE/ADVANTAGE - Grass and leaves are compacted in sweeper machine with worm constructed to impel material towards its centre so that there is only a narrow feed to the press.
