Connecting through different rate data signals via time coupled field - reading transport module data into one memory and reads data out from two memories to couple data signals inserted in tributary units
Data signals (DS1,DS2) of different data rates and different multiplex hierarchies (ETS1,USA) are connected through via a time coupling field (ZKF). The first signals (DS1) are inserted into first data function blocks (TU11). The other signals (DS2) are inserted into other data function blocks (TU12). Several identical blocks (TU-1,TU-2) are inserted into a containing block (TUG) of a higher level by byte-wise interpolation. These blocks (TUG) are then inserted into further blocks (TUG-3,VC-4) in a transport module (DSM-3). The number of data words (D1) in each data line (DZ) of the transport module (DSM-3) is temporarily stored in a time coupling field (ZKF). This number is arranged inside the largest gap (WT11) in a data block (TU1) before the stored data words (DA-1) corresponding to a coupling address (AD2) are read out. ADVANTAGE - Allows data signals of different rates and hierarchies to be efficiently and accurately transmitted.
