A distributor drive (22) with first and second drive shafts (24,26) is fitted to the towing vehicle. The first drive shaft (24) is provided for the axle drive of a wheel axle of the towing vehicle; the second drive shaft (26) is provided for the axle drive of a wheel axle (9) on the trailer vehicle. The distributor drive has a third drive shaft (28) to the axle drive of a further wheel axle (8) of the towing vehicle. In the uncoupled and coupled states, the first and second drive shafts of both vehicles are in drive connection with the respective axle drive. ADVANTAGE - Allows the use of a towing vehicle with a rear wheel drive, rather than one with four wheel drive or front wheel drive.
