The hard or armoured roller blind (10) incorporates an number of horizontal slats, fastened together edge-to-edge. The slats may be made of plastics or organic glass material, and have rounded edges (124) fitting into concave edges. The slats are fastened together at the edges by tapes (14), and may be rolled up on a reel at the top. The blind hangs down vertically from ther reel and its edges with the tapes are guided and protected by fixed channel sections (20). The tapes are threaded through slits (18) in the ends of the slats and lie alternately on either side of the slats. They may be glued to the slats.
