An actuator lever for use with a valve, e.g. water valve, has a central head section (1) that has a main wall with radial projections (52) that engage with slots in an intermediate coupling (5). The main connection with the valve spindle (2) is provided by a bush (6) that fits on the spline (63) of the spindle and is retained by an axial screw (7). The connection between the bush and the intermediate coupling is provided by radial elements that are held in engagement by a dish shaped spring (4). When an undue torque is applied to the lever the spring force is overcome and the radial elements disengage. USE/ADVANTAGE - Suitable for mass production.
