The upwardly protruding spaced holders (3) round the edge of the tray are formed as hollow sections with can holding surfaces directed into the inside of the tray. The upwardly protruding holders in the inside of the tray are formed by barrel-like elements in the form of cross-barrels. On at least two opposite sides such as the long sides of the tray there are wall strips (10) offset outwards relative to the outside walls of the tray below so that the inner sides of the wall strips fit outside the outer walls of the tray below for easy stacking of the tray. USE/ADVANTAGE - The tray is sufficiently reinforced at the sides to hold even 0.5 litre cans as well as the 0.33 litre cans.
