A multi-pin electrical connector has a main body (2) into which is set a carrier (12) that has a number of cylindrical projections (15) that have central holes that receive the contact pins (13). The pins are produced with a pair of flange sections that engage either side of a reduced diameter section in the carrier (17). This ensures that the pins are axially retained when the connector is engaged with a mating unit. The ends of the pins are secured to the wires of electrical cables. The wires pass through an elastomer seal (36) that is inset into the end of the housing. A central pin (7) is spring loaded and provides guidance. With the elastomer seal removed, individual contact pins may be removed. ADVANTAGE - Compact. Allows individual pins to be removed and replaced.
